Black Time- ICU 7"

cover

from Dusted Magazine

Black Time has conducted itself with utmost care, with few missteps. They rock a vintage sound, but they’re not ‘60s traditionalists; instead, they scavenge for pieces of culture to weave into their dialogue (think Comet Gain or the Yummy Fur turned nasty and loud, and don’t lump ‘em in with the American striped-shirted scumbag set). Three new jammers here, with “Doomsday Parade” as the favorite, with a beautifully constructed, gauzy wall of noise to end things. Skulltones’ perfect streak continues. 500 numbered copies. — Doug Mosurock

from Volcanic Tongue

Excellent new EP from this UK art punk/garage rock trio in a hand-numbered edition of 500 copies on the highly-collectable Skulltones label. This one orbits the whole UK post-punk scene a little more closely than their In The Red LP, tho tracks are drawn from the same recording sessions. Here they cross almost Swell Maps-style avant-garage moves with some Public Image-styled dub/punk and a classy trash-fi aesthetic. Another good one.
